Sankalp is a community project started on 15 July 2026 by participants in the Self Expression Leadership Program, run by Landmark Worldwide. It aims to help college freshers, unemployed youth, women and people from backward communities become financially independent through self-employment. The team plans to explain the loans, government schemes and financial help available at district, taluka and Gram Panchayat level, and to connect people with Krishi Vigyan Kendras that already run training. Its target is to reach 100 people.

The program’s first workday was on 12 July and Sankalp began on 15 July. It is aimed at college freshers, unemployed youth, women and people from economically and socially backward communities.

The team plans to give training and awareness on the opportunities open to them: different types of loans, government schemes and financial assistance at district, taluka and Gram Panchayat level. The aim is that people can choose and start their own livelihood, such as a farm, a small shop, a plant nursery, nutrition-food or millet cultivation, or another small business.

Sankalp also plans to point people to institutions that already run training, such as the Krishi Vigyan Kendras in Kolhapur, Solapur and Hyderabad, which hold regular programmes on agriculture, entrepreneurship, government schemes and financial help. Its target is to reach 100 people.

Shailashree Manjunatha is working on part of the project.

Disclosure: Ganesh H S, who runs GullyStory, is also a participant in the Self Expression Leadership Program.
