These terms cover the GullyStory website and mobile application, operated by Gully System Private Limited. By creating an account or submitting anything to us, you agree to them.

Who may use GullyStory

Anyone may read published stories and browse organisation profiles without an account. Creating an account requires a working email address that you control. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself — team members of an organisation each sign in with their own credentials rather than sharing one login.

What we publish

GullyStory covers constructive local news: achievements, new ventures, environmental and community work, skills and education. We do not cover crime, party politics, traffic or weather.

Every submission is read by an editor before publication. Submitting something does not guarantee that it will be published. We may edit a headline or a description for clarity, accuracy and length, change the category, or decline a submission entirely. Where we decline, we tell you why.

What you submit

By submitting a story or a profile, you confirm that:

  • the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
  • you have the right to publish any image you upload, and to grant us the right to publish it alongside your story;
  • anyone named or photographed has agreed to appear;
  • the claims made are not misleading or exaggerated.

You keep ownership of what you submit. You grant us a licence to publish, edit, store and distribute it on GullyStory and in associated material such as newsletters and social posts.

What must not be submitted

Political campaigning, crime reporting, defamatory allegations, misleading claims, guaranteed-return or unverified medical claims, hate speech, adult or violent content, copyright infringement, personal information published without consent, and repeated promotional or duplicate submissions.

Sponsored content

Where a placement has been paid for, it is labelled as sponsored. Payment never buys favourable coverage, and sponsored material is still checked for accuracy before it runs.

Corrections

If something we published is wrong, tell us. We correct confirmed errors promptly, and where a correction is significant we record it publicly on the story. Published stories are part of the record: we do not remove them on request, though we will consider removal where there is a legal or safety reason.

Organisation profiles

A profile represents a real organisation. The person who creates it confirms they are entitled to act for it. We may ask for evidence, suspend a profile, withdraw a verification badge, or merge duplicate entries for the same organisation.

Suspension

We may suspend an account or an organisation that breaks these terms. Where we do, we say why, and you may respond.

Availability

We work to keep GullyStory available and accurate, but we provide it as it is. We are not liable for losses arising from its use, or from interruptions to it, beyond what the law requires of us.

Changes

We may update these terms. Where a change is material we will tell account holders by email before it takes effect.
