Publish on GullyStory
We ask what happened. You answer. An editor checks it.
Nobody writes a story from a blank page, so we do not ask anyone to. You get a list of things that actually happen, pick the one that did, and we ask only what that story needs.
You can start today. There is no application to wait on.
For an organisation
A college, school, studio, clinic, shop, factory — anything organised. Work finished, people hired, awards, openings, certifications.
Work We Finished
A job, project, contract or build that is now done.
Something New We Offer
A new service, product, course, treatment or line of work.
We Invested or Expanded
New equipment, a bigger space, more capacity, a system put in.
Someone Joined Us
A senior hire, a new head of something, a notable appointment.
Someone Was Promoted or Recognised
A promotion, a long-service milestone, an internal award.
We Are Hiring
Recruitment, an apprenticeship intake, a training programme.
For a person
Most of what happens in a city is not filed by an organisation. The drain open since September, the stall run for thirty years, how you finally got a khata transferred.
A Problem Where I Live
A pothole, water supply, garbage, drainage, streetlights, a stray danger.
Something That Got Fixed
A long-standing local problem that has finally been dealt with.
Something Changed Nearby
Construction, a new road, a shop opening or closing, a tree felled, a building coming down.
We Got Together and Did Something
A clean-up, a petition, a residents’ association effort, a protest, a repair people paid for themselves.
Something I Saw Happen
An incident, an accident, a rescue, something unusual you were there for.
An Event I Went To
A festival, a public meeting, a performance, a match, a procession, a protest.
What happens to what you send
- An editor reads it. Everything, every time, whoever sent it. Most come back with questions first — that is normal and not a rejection.
- It needs somebody who can confirm it. A named contact an editor can ring, and something supporting it: a photograph, a certificate, a complaint reference.
- If it is about somebody else, we ask them. You do not have to get their permission before writing. We write to them, they say what may appear, and nothing about a child publishes without a guardian agreeing.
- Nothing is anonymous. Stories carry who filed them, and corrections stay on the record.
